Musicals & Theatre

This is a topic covering musicals, plays, theater and acting. You can talk about productions you’ve seen and/or been in, as well as acting in general.

I finally finished watching the Les Miserables musical a while ago! I LOVED it. I’ve also seen The Phantom of the Opera (excellent), Hello, Dolly! (pretty good), Legally Blonde (blegh), the first third or so of West Side Story (good so far) Our Town and a few others.

Musicals that I’ve seen and still enjoy listening to (in no particular order):
:star: Fiddler on the Roof (Movie adaption)
:star: Hamilton (“LyricsBy Allie” is a YouTube channel that does great clean edits of the entire musical which I would personally recommend over the original)
:star: Les Misérables (Movie adaption; haven’t found any clean edits of this one yet so viewers beware)
:star: Spongebob Squarepants: The Broadway Musical
:star: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory—The Musical
:star: Mary Poppins Returns (This one could count as a musical, right?)

Edit:
:star: The Music Man (Movie adaption)
:star: The Greatest Showman (Movie adaption)

Has anyone here seen any of Gilbert and Sullivan’s operettas?

Eyes light up at “opera.” I’ve heard of a few of them.

OOOOOOO HOW HAVE I NOT FOUND THIS TOPIC BEFORE NOW??!!!

My favorite musical is Singin’ In The Rain and my favorite theatre production (which I guess is technically a musical too?) is the Phantom of The Opera. Never seen the movie of it, just the play. . .

There are, in fact several movies and you can get along just fine without seeing any of them.

I can’t do anything with that without cracking up. All I can think of is Studio C’s conversation actually happening beforehand.

Gilbert and SULLIVAN?!

*faints because I just now realized Pirate101 played references on that *

Yes, I can understand how a game like Pirate 101 might draw inspiration from Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance.
