Who wants to be pirates?

The world is a dreadfully dreary place these days. Doing adult things is hard. Getting people to like you is hard. Dealing with bureaucracy is hard.

Hang it all, let’s run away to sea and be pirates.

What is this topic for?

Mostly to see if anyone would be interested in a role play about us as pirates, but also to talk about historical pirate stuff if anyone’s interested.

I pirate tv shows, does that count?

Unless you do it from a ship, I don’t think so.

The mostly historical kind with a bit of high sea fantasy thrown in.

Hmmmmm, does high sea fantasy include the many sea myths and folklore?

Absolutely!

Well I do it while surfing, which is kinda like on a mini ship I think.

I guess this topic isn’t for me; I’m actually kind of looking forward to adulthood :stuck_out_tongue:

That depends on what exactly you’re looking forward to. I’m looking forward to having a home of my own, but I do not like the paying of bills or the washing of dishes.

I suppose in a way I do look forward to those things, because it means that I actually have dishes to wash and electricity to pay a bill for.

And without the monotony, I wouldn’t know the joy of spontaneity.

There is that.

I still think it would be fun to drive a car that does not run on gas so I don’t have to pay for gas.

They have swords… they kill… they’re awesome

They are so much more.

They had democracy while the rest of the world was still monarchies. Each pirate captain had his individual flag. They had a system of recompensation for wounds and lost limbs.

Yes, pirates are awesome.
